Goals & Objectives:
The Protected Area aims at the conservation of the natural biological and physical, as well as cultural features of Zaranik, through the wise and sustainable utilization of its resources for the benefit of the present and future generations. One of the main objectives of Zaranik Protected Area is to become a regional attraction and a focal point for ecologically sensitive tourism and environmental education. Local visitors and tourists, who wish to enjoy and learn more about the area's natural and cultural treasures, will benefit the local communities. It is therefore important to maintain the natural and traditional regimes that govern this environment, whilst contributing to the sustainable economic development of North Sinai. Conservation education lies at the heart of the Protected Area's objectives. The Protected Area seeks to raise the awareness among local people, of the importance of their natural heritage; emphasizing the long-term benefits gained by conserving their natural recourses. The integration and cooperation of local communities are essential for the success of the Protected Area. The Protected Area is also seeking to encourage scientific research in areas related to life sciences, especially ecology, biological conservation and ethnobiology.
