SOLAR AIR-CONDITIONING PROJECT

Objective

The project includes design, installation, testing, operation and monitoring of a solar air-conditioning of an office/training building consisting of 2 floors located at Sharm El Sheikh city, 480 kilometers south of Cairo, by using 82 m2 (gross surface) evacuated tube (heat pipe) collectors driving 3 absorption chillers.

Our project aims at demonstrating new solar cooling technologies able to satisfy the needs of residential buildings and small scale office buildings. The main components of the system are 82 m2 evacuated tube collectors with operation temperatures just below 100°C and three Rotartica 8 kW (maximum) single effect absorption chillers, with a total peak capacity of 24 kW.
