The Eighteenth meeting of the Board of the Green Climate Fund will take place in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt from Saturday, 30 September to Monday, 2 October 2017.

Constituency meetings, as well as meetings of Board committees, panels and groups are planned to take place on Thursday, 28 September 2017, and informal consultations by the Co-Chairs with Board members, alternate members and active observers on Friday, 29 September 2017.

Day 1 (Thursday 28 September 2017)

Morning Tours:
Option 1 – Great Pyramids & Sphinx
Cost: $30 USD per person

We drive to the Giza Plateau, where the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza still stand. Visit the Pyramids and enjoy panoramic views from the Western Plateau, then continue down the valley where the guardian of this Mortuary complex, the mighty Sphinx lies.

Option 2 – Coptic Churches & Islamic Mosques
Cost: $25 USD per person

This visit takes you to Old Cairo to view its ancient Islamic, Coptic and Jewish heritage. Stops include the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the hanging church and Abu Serga, the 4th century church believed to be Cairo’s oldest church and the spot where the Holy Family, rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.

Evening Tours:
Option 1 - Cairo by night
Cost: $25 USD per person

Whether conventional or chic, there are a wide variety of places to have a drink in Cairo by night. Nearly every street in the city also supplies access to a traditional coffee house, which has served as a common male social gathering that dates back hundreds of years. This tour continues to Al-Moez Street and Khan Elkhalili Old Bazaar.

Option 2 – Shopping at Cairo Festival
Cost: $25 USD per person

The tour will take you to very modern shopping Mall at Tagamo' area, where you can find modern, stylish and classic clothes, home accessories. Also, home decorations and Bazaars selling Egyptian souvenirs are available.

Day 2 (Friday 29 September 2017)

Morning Tours:
Option 1 – Egyptian Museum
Cost: $30 USD per person

We drive to Tahrir Square, in the heart of down town Cairo. Next stop is the the Egyptian Musuem, which holds the greatest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Cairo.

This visit takes you to Old Cairo to view its ancient Islamic, Coptic and Jewish heritage. In the morning your guide will pick you from your hotel to start your tour by proceeding to Memphis. This was once was a Capital of the Great Kingdom, however today the city itself no longer exists, apart from the mud-brick ruins in the countryside. You will then will proceed to Sakkara.
Sakkara, not far from Memphis is on the borderline between the fertile valley and the western Desert. Sakkara is the official necropolis of the old kingdom, a vast area, contains hundreds of tombs, mastaba-tomb and pyramids.
