Human Health
Climate change is expected to have both direct and indirect adverse impacts on human health, which will be aggravated by high population densities.
Direct impacts include increased prevalence of vector borne diseases, physiological disorders, skin cancer, eye cataracts, deaths and injuries, respiratory ailments, heat strokes, and heat related illnesses, as well as a weakening of the public health infrastructure. The indirect impacts involve factors such as demographic dislocations and socioeconomic disruptions. However, comprehensive studies that contain detailed estimations and correlations between climate change and human health are still lacking for Egypt.
