Egypt Celebrates
the International Ozone Day
The EEAA-NOU is regulating a celebration for the
International day for the protection of the Ozone Layer
during the period 16-30 September 2009.

The celebration also includes the following events: Organizing a workshop in cooperation with the United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to
introduce the incentive program to replace chillers using
CFC that deplete the Ozone Layer. Announcing the outcome of the
"Ozone Protectors"
competition organized by the EEAA, in collaboration with the
United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and published on
the website of the Ministry of State for the Environment -
Ozone Unit. An exhibition on modern and friendly technology will be
held, in which a number of national companies that have to
adjust their positions and now use environmentally friendly
materials to preserve the ozone layer. As part of
celebrating the International Day for the Protection of the
ozone layer, each company will be given 20 minutes, during
the period from 28 / 9 to 30/9/2009, to provide an example
of their work or films about their experience in the
preservation of the environment. Designing a number of posters to raise public awareness of
the importance of protecting the ozone layer and publishing
it on the website of the Ministry of State for the
Environment - Ozone Unit. Preparation and publication of several newspaper articles,
as well as the having interviews with experts and
participants in the implementation of the Egyptian program
to protect the ozone layer. Those meetings will be displayed
in many radio and television programs, as well as some local
and satellite channels. Designing some messages and printing them on some
souvenirs, to be distributed among children and adults from
all segments of society on the occasion of the International
