Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs managed through South Sinai's Protectorate Department to re-open and operate roads and tracks in Ras Mohamed Park, after removing sand and rocks that carried by floods and rains, causing to cover roads and tracks with thick layer of sediment. Construction Company specialized in the removal of floods' remnants had been used. The Park has been fully opened for tourists within 48 hours after the flood. "Khashaby Valley" in Ras Mohammed Park, which is considered one of the most active valleys in southern Sinai, was the most affected area.
Phenomenon of floods and rains is one of the most important natural factors that help in controlling environmental system for all environments; salinity of sea water surrounding South Sinai is considered the highest in the world ; this is due to the high evaporation rates and absence of any sources of fresh water pour in the Red Sea to help in compensation for the loss ; so that floods' phenomenon is one of the most important factors that help in reducing salinity of sea water and thus reduce pressures on marine environments.
Sand and sediment carried by the floods help in the creation of environments suitable for the growth of mangroves and sea grasses, which are of special importance to the environment of the Red Sea as considered one of the most productive environments for organic matter in the marine environment; as for terrestrial environments, rain water will significantly help in the growth of desert plants after suffering from drought for many years. This will have a positive impact on the conservation of biological diversity of the region.
