INTRODUCTION

The planning workshop was held according to the steps of the National Implementation Plan for Stockholm Convention on persistent Organic Pollutants (step 1), for discussing work plan of the project, organization structure and its main operational components (their roles, responsibilities, interrelations), work procedures in addition to helping The National Coordination Unit for recognizing the involved expertise, authorities, organizations and their responsibilities to maximize the benefits from them during putting the implementation plan.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1.

Reviewing of all documents issued by the project with the steering committee.

2.

Inviting representatives of pesticide producing association and chemical commodities councils to steering committee meetings.

3.

The representatives of all sites (Ministries, Authorities, Research Centers will send a summary of the activities capabilities of their sites).

4.

Adding a report for the chairman of Egyptian Chemical Society for Toxicology about health hazardous of pesticides to the project report.

5.

Inviting representatives for all dealing with hazardous substances (pharmaceutical companies, Pesticide companies and specialists in chemicals) to inception workshop.

6.

Inviting representatives for a Central Agency for General Mobilization and Statistics, Information And Decision Support Center.

7.

Inviting representatives for NGO's dealing with health issues.
